A GP Co-Payment was announced a part of the Federal Governments healthcare reforms in the May Budget.
This announcement has resulted in some concern and confusion amongst some of our patients.
Please be aware that this Budget strategy needs to be passed by the Senate before it can come into effect and is not proposed to start until July 2015.
Regular Pap smears are still the most effective way to prevent cervical cancer.
In fact, if every eligible woman had regular Pap smears, up to 90% of cervical cancer could be prevented.
